Engines and fuels guarantees:
Xbee® has been analyzed by the DNV (Norway) and granted non-objection and recomendation letters by the main engines manufacturers. Moreover, Xbee® is in compliance with the current European norms: EN 590 diesel oil, CSR 441 heating oil and CSR 500 heavy fuel oil.

Mediterranea Pitiusa - additif gasoil Xbee

The fleet is composed of three ships:

Blau de Formentera main engine is a MTU 396 TE74L 16 V of 2000 kW;
Illa Pitiusa main engine is a MAN D2842LE 12 V of 500 kW;
Menorca Express main engine is a MTU 183TE 12 V of 500 kW.

The company is concerned by the preservation of the environment where its ships work everyday and that is the reason why Mediterranea Pitiusa decided to use Xbee in June 2010.
Jaime Ferrer Technical Director of the company confirms the following results:

Blau de Formentera reduced dramatically its exhaust emissions after only 500 hours of work with Xbee. Moreover, it has been noticed that the smell of the smokes has changed at the beginning of using the product and came back to normal after a few hundreds of hours.

Reduction of the smokes has been more spectacular onboard the Illa Pitiusa, as it almost completely disappeared after only 200 hours of work.
