Penn Ar Bed et l'additif gasoil Xbee

After more than one year of treatment of a single vessel and faced with good results, Jean-François Stéphan _ careful Technical Manager_ decided to progressively extend the treatment of diesel fuel with Xbee enzyme on the whole fleet of the Penn Ar Bed ferry company.

This company provides the maritime service for Ouessant, Molène and Sein Islands, every day, all year long.

Ponant Islands are very fragile natural sites. Penn Ar Bed company always wants to be more respectful of this environment and of the three hundred thousand passengers who trust the ferry company all year long.

IAPP International Air Pollution Prevention

Regulation for prevention of air pollution from marine vessels _ MARPOL VI.

Annex VI entered into force on May 19, 2005 and sets limits on sulfur oxide and nitrogen oxide emissions from ship exhausts and prohibits deliberate emissions of ozone depleting substances.

According to the EPA - Environment Protection Agency, vessels became the main source of sulfur oxide (SO2 emissions) in the European Union.
